GENERAL INFORMATION:
The Texas Trail Challenge, "Final Follies" will be held at the C-Bar Ranch in Valley Mills on November 13th. This 4th generation ranch is located just outside of Waco, hopefully a good central location for everyone. C-Bar offers a variety of trails, from technical rocky to sandy loam, with a variety of large trees, open vistas and scenic watercrossings. I will avoid most of the real technical trails, but it would be worthwhile for anyone interested to stay over Saturday night and further explore this jewel of a ranch. Bring Neg Coggins

Trail will be approx 10 miles long and should take approx 3 hour ride. Check in will begin on Friday afternoon at 4, and begin again Saturday morning at 7:30AM with ride briefing at 10:00 and a ride-out time of 10:30.

AWARDS:
We will have the ride awards after the ride and the year end awards will follow. There will be a Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion based on over all points. The Tenderfoot, Maverick and Horseman competitors will receive 1st through 6th. Riders must have competed in 3 rides during 2010 to be eligible for year end awards.

CAMP:
Camping fees per night are $15 for 30 amp electric/water hook-up, no fee for primitive camping. Riders may set up portable pens, highlines, or tie to trailers. Reserve an elec site with your paid entry, your site will be assigned when you arrive.

Additional Fees:
Additional ranch fee is $10 per horse, per day. Noncompetitors can ride with friends, but there is a $20 charge for Buddy Riders in addition to the ranch fee.

Meals ~ We will potluck on Friday evening…please bring a dessert, or side dish. Management will provide the main dish.

Jim Edmondson is our Photographer.

Thanks, and Happy Trails

Proof of negative Coggins required (original only - no copies) will be checked at the main building.

DIRECTIONS:
From Dallas/Fort Worth take I-35 South towards Hilsboro. Take the first exit to the town of Hillsboro and then turn right onto Hwy.22 towards Whitney. Cross the Whitney Dam and at the flashing light turn left onto FM 56 towards Valley Mills. Go about 13 miles and turn right onto CR 3350.

Look for the C-Bar Ranch sign at the first gravel road on your left PR 3348. Drive to the cattle guard for registration and, if you are bringing a horse, Negative Coggins check in.

Coming from the south, take I-35 to Waco, Texas then take Highway 6 North approximately 30 miles to Valley Mills. Once in Valley Mills, go through the only blinking light in town. Turn right on FM 56 going to Whitney Dam. There is a green sign just before the intersection of Hwy 6 and FM 56 that says "Whitney Dam." Once on FM 56, turn on Bismarck - CR 3350. Then turn left on PR 3348 at C-Bar Ranch sign. Drive to the cattle guard for registration and Negative Coggins check in.
